Violence in Gaza Kills Israeli soldier, Palestinian militant

Palestine Isolated Incident // Man-made
GAZA --As a new wave of violence erupted between the Israeli army and militant groups in the Gaza Strip ruled by Islamic Hamas movement, an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian militant were killed and five others wounded in two linked incidents on Friday. Early on Friday, Israeli radio reported that a Palestinian militant, who tried to breach the borders between southeast Gaza Strip and Israel, killed an Israeli soldier in exchange of fire. Medical sources in the Gaza Strip said that the Israeli army forces are still holding the body of Abu Nasser, saying that there are contacts held between the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Israeli army to release the body and hand him over to his family in southern Gaza Strip. Following the fire exchange, and the death of the soldier and the militant, an Israeli army force backed by tanks rolled into the area while opening fire and launching shells at the area. This made Israel built a 300-meter security zone along the borders with the Gaza Strip. Shortly after the attack, an Israeli war drone fired one missile at a three-wheel motorcycle and wounded five Palestinians - - two in critical conditions. The last escalation in the Gaza Strip was in mid-March when Israel killed the commander of the PRC's Zuhair al-Qaissi. The wave of violence in March in the Gaza Strip had killed 26 Palestinians, while 80 were wounded and dozens of rockets and mortars were fired at southern Israel.
