Pakistan Moderate // Terrorist Attack
ISLAMABAD -- Home Secretary Naseebullah Khan Bazai said gunmen riding motorcycles killed 18 Pakistani workers on Friday as the group was traveling through Balochistan province on their way to Iran. Although no one has claimed credit for the attack, Bazai said officials believe Baloch militants who have been battling the government over political, economic and human rights issues, were the likely culprits. Bazai said the workers came from the provinces of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and Punjab. They were heading to Iran to look for work when four militants on two motorcycles opened fire, leaving 18 dead and two others injured. The attack took place approximately 120 km from Turbat. The office of Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf strongly condemned the attack, stating that it won't weaken the commitment of the government and the Pakistani people to conquer the forces of evil.
