Egypt Isolated Incident // Man-made
Egypt’s president Hosni Mubarak received gets life in prison for his crimes. The tyrant dictator got the verdict of life in prison instead of death penalty and this turned out to be a very disappointing news for the people of Egypt. The presiding judge on the case, Ahmed Refaat also sentenced Mubarak's former interior minister, Habib el-Adli to life in prison for the same charges. However, Mubarak's two sons, Gamal and Alaa were acquitted on the corruption charges which were charged on them. As soon as the verdicts were heard by the public brawls broke out in the Cairo courtroom between the supporters of Mubarak and his opponents. At about 9:38 a.m. local time on Saturday, Mubarak was seen being wheeled into the police academy as he lay on a stretcher. He was seen wearing sunglasses, a beige top and black trousers and he looked in a very weak state of health. This is the first time ever in the history that an Arab leader, who was ousted by his own people, was put on trial before a regular court.
