At Least 20 Killed as Train Crashes into Truck in South Africa

CAPE TOWN -- TrafficSA reported that 20 people were killed on Friday morning when a train rammed into a truck in South Africa's Mpumalanga province. According to the transport organization, the incident occurred when the truck, transporting fruit-pickers, was on its way to a farm. Local media eNews placed the death toll at 30. However, emergency response agency Netcare911 reported that paramedics confirmed 10 fatalities and 13 injuries. According to Netcare911's Jeff Wicks, the train crashed into the truck which was at a level crossing between Malalane and Hectorspruit.
