BANGKOK -- Thailand's Meteorological Department warned the people in the North and the upper parts of the Northeast to prepare for heavy rain with. The danger of floods in the next few days is also expected. Warning is up near hillsides and waterways in the western province of Tak, the northern provinces of Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao, Phrae and Nan, and the northeastern provinces of Uttaradit, Sakon Nakhon and Kalasin. There will also be strong wind-generated 2- to 3-meter-high waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand due to the prevailing southwest monsoon.
