Austria experienced record October snowfall Tuesday night, while heavy snow and winds in Poland left some 90,000 without power. Austrian metereologists reported the highest October snow levels in the past 25 years after heavy snowfall in the Alps. Strong winds and snow caused a number of traffic accidents, and railway line near the western Austrian town of Dalaas was blocked by a fallen tree.
