Khost -- Reports said that eight Afghan National Police (ANP) got injured on Saturday when their van struck a roadside bomb in the province of Paktia in eastern Afghanistan.

Deputy to provincial police chief Ghulam Dastgir Rustamyar said that the attack occurred at around 10 a.m. in the area of Ibrahim Khil when an ANP unit was on routine patrol. He added that three of the victims are in critical condition. 

In a separate incident, district chief Abdul Wali Zadran reported that 10 villagers who were working in a road reconstruction site were abducted by Taliban militants in the Waza Zadran district of Paktia province on Saturday morning.

However, Taliban militants informed media through a cell phone interview from an undisclosed location that there were 15 villagers have been kidnapped.
