KABUL -- NATO reported that seven American servicemen and three US civilians were killed when their helicopter went down in western Afghanistan early Monday morning.
In a statement of NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), the helicopter crashed due to "unconfirmed reasons, adding that the cause is not likely from hostile fire.
The statement added that there were also 26 who got injured in the incident. Among them are 14 Afghan service members, 11 US soldiers and a US civilian.
An ISAF source, on condition of anonymity stated that the crash occurred in Badghis province, an area where the Taliban is actively producing opium.
