STOCKHOLM - The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported 6 new fatal cases of the Influenza A/H1N1 during the past 24 hours, as of October 27, 2009. The new fatalities raised Europe’s death toll from the new flu virus to 280.
Outside Europe and EFTA nations, 5,642 deaths have been reported to date.

Czech Republic – first fatal case
Finland – first fatal case
Ireland – one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to nine
Norway – one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to 11
United Kingdom – two fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 130
