Stockholm - The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported 12 new fatal cases of the Influenza A/H1N1 during the past 24 hours, as of October 29,2009. The new fatalities raised Europe’s death toll from the new flu virus to 292.
Outside Europe and EFTA nations, 5,729 deaths have been reported to date.
Below is the list of the number of new fatal cases since the previous national updates:
Bulgaria – one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to two
France – eight fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 44
Ireland – one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to ten
Norway – two fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 13
