Moscow, October 29, 2009 -- The Russian Health Ministry reported on Thursday a new influenza A/H1N1 related death in the country involving a 39-year-old woman from the Krasnoyarsk region.
This new death increased the total number of casualties to the pandemic virus to five in the country.
According to Deputy Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova, the woman was hospitalized on Wednesday in critical condition and doctors cound not save her.
On Tuesday, the death of a 53-year-old woman reported in Moscow marked the fourth death to the flu virus.
The other three cases belonged to the Transbaikal region in Siberia as reported by the health ministry on Tuesday as well.
Chief sanitary official Gennady Onishchenko stated that about 1,300 influenza A/H1N1 cases were confirmed in the country as to Tuesday.
The mass production of two A/H1N1 vaccines have been set by Russia as the country is planning to begin the vaccination campaign involving 10 million people on November 9.
