CAIRO -- The Al-Ahram daily reported on Friday that Egypt has confirmed its fourth A/H1N1 flu-related death.

Health Ministry spokesman Abdel Rahman Shahine was quoted as saying that the victim was a 36-year-old woman from Ismailia Governorate who succumbed to the A/H1N1 virus late on Thursday.

To date, the Ministry has reported over 1,000 cases of the influenza A/H1N1 virus.

Egypt, the most populous Arab nation, reported its first case of A/H1N1 flu on June 2, involving a 12-year- old Egyptian-American girl who returned from the United States via the Netherlands.
