Stockholm - The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported 10 new fatal cases of the Influenza A/H1N1 during the past 24 hours, as of October 30, 2009. The new fatalities raised Europe’s death toll from the new flu virus to 302.
Outside Europe and EFTA nations, 5,749 deaths have been reported to date.
Below is the list of the number of new fatal cases since the previous national updates:
Belgium – two fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to seven
Portugal – one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to four
United Kingdom – seven fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 137
