ANKARA -- The semi-official Anatolia news agency reported that the Turkish Health Ministry announced on Monday that the country's death toll of A/H1N1 flu has risen to six.
According to the ministry, two children - a 22-month-old baby girl and a 14-year-old boy who had a chronic illness, both succumbed to the A/H1N1 flu in the Anatolian province of Konya.
The ministry added that there are presently nine A/H1N1 flu patients in the country who are undergoing further treatment at intensive care units of different hospitals.
The first confirmed A/H1N1 case in Turkey was reported on May 15, while the first fatal case was documented in Ankara on October 24.
As of Sunday, a total of 1,870 people in Turkey had tested positive for the A/H1N1virus since May.
