Stockholm - The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported 17 new fatal cases of the Influenza A/H1N1 during the past 24 hours, as of November 04, 2009. The new fatalities raised Europe’s death toll from the new flu virus to 340.
Outside Europe and EFTA nations, 5,915 deaths have been reported to date.
Below is the list of the number of new fatal cases since the previous national updates:
Bulgaria – two fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to four
Italy – 13 fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 17
United Kingdom – two fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 142
