MINSK -- Belarus' Health Ministry announced on Thursday that the A/H1N1 flu virus had claimed a total of seven lives in the country.
According to Valentina Kachan, Minsk's chief sanitary official, during the past two weeks, a total of 19 patients have succumbed to acute pneumonia in the country. Among the deaths, seven were confirmed to have contracted the A/H1N1 virus.
To date, 85 people in Belarus had been confirmed positive to the new flu virus, 31 of whom were admitted in hospitals.
