STOCKHOLM - The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported 12 new fatal cases of the Influenza A/H1N1 during the past 24 hours, as of November 05, 2009. The new fatalities raised Europe’s death toll from the new flu virus to 352.
Outside Europe and EFTA nations, 5,952 deaths have been reported to date.
Below is the list of the number of new fatal cases since the previous national updates:
Belgium – one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to eight
Bulgaria –one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to five
France – five fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 49
Italy – four fatal cases, bringing the country’s death toll to 21
United Kingdom – one fatal case, bringing the country’s death toll to 143
