KABUL -- NATO issued a press release saying that two soldiers of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), including an American soldier, were killed in the southern and eastern regions of Afghanistan on Tuesday.
The press release said that the ISAF service member from the United States was killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strike in southern Afghanistan.
The other ISAF service member was killed in an insurgent engagement in the eastern section of the country. But the press release did not reveal the nationality of the victim nor the exact location of the incident.
Since the start of the year, more than 50 NATO soldiers, majority of them from the United States, have been killed in the war-plagued nation.
