JAKARTA -- A local TV station reported that two terrorists were killed on Friday in a shootout that broke out when the terrorists attacked a police outpost located in Leubeum, in Aceh province.
The report said that police also managed to take into custody eight terrorists when the shootout ended. The police outpost is situated close to an area used as a training camp by terrorists. The TV report said the terrorists arrived at the police outpost in a van and immediately opened fire. Indonesian police units have been conducting raids in the areas suspected to be the terrorist training camps in the hilly terrain in Aceh since late last week.
