Lufthansa was forced to delay a flight by two hours after a number of passengers reported violent stomach cramps. Flight LH-714, which had been scheduled to fly from Munich (Germany) to Tokyo Narita (Japan), was being operated with an Airbus A340, containing around 300 passengers in total. The mystery illness affected 23 Japanese tourists, who complained of vertigo, vomiting and circulation problems, according to doctors, though their lives were not thought to be in danger, said the police statement. Doctors were still trying to ascertain what had caused the sickness. The rest of the group, 57 tourists, were taken to hotels and placed under medical supervision as a precaution, even though they showed no symptoms.
