The National Weather Service is reporting that two people were killed late Saturday Night in a tornado in Wood County in northwest Ohio. The twister struck just southeast of Walbridge and destroyed the Lake Township Administration Building and Dispatch Center. A high school was also badly damaged and one female was killed in a car. It was unclear where the other fatality occured. Many homes were also badly damaged or destroyed as the tornado moved into Ottawa County near Genoa, Martin and Elmore. The storms were part of a cold front moving through the lower Great Lakes that spawned many tornado warnings late Saturday night across Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio. More severe weather was expected early Sunday morning across parts of northern Ohio.
