SHENYANG -- Authorities confirmed that nine people were killed while another nine were injured when a real estate project located in Shenyang of Liaoning Province caught fire on Saturday. According to an officer with the city's fire brigade, the blaze broke out at around 2:54 p.m. at the sales office of Wanda Plaza in Tiexi District. He added that fire crews arrived at the site within 10 minutes, evacuated some 40 people and extinguished the flames. A preliminary investigation showed that the fire was caused by a short-circuit on the sand table. Among the casualties and injured victims were home buyers and sales assistants.
