The U.K. death toll for the Influenza A/H1N1 flu has risen to five following the death of a nine-year-old child. A spokesman for the National Health Service (NHS) said that the child had "serious underlying health problems."

The child became the second fatality in London after a 19 year-old man died of the new flu virus last week. The spokesman said that no further details would be released to secure patient confidentially.

Jacqui Fleming of Glasgow, was the first U.K fatality for the Influenza A/H1N1 Flu after contracting the disease last month. The youngest victim in Britain so far was a six-year-old child named Sameerah Ahmad.
