Thailand Influenza A/H1N1 Deaths Reach 130

The Public Health Ministry from Thailand announced on Wednesday 11 new deaths to the influenza A/H1N1 flu virus increasing the total number of deaths to 130.

From the 11 recent deaths, five were males and the other six were females according to the Health Ministry's deputy permanent secretary Dr. Paijit Warachit.

About 70 percent of the deaths were in the age range of 31 to 40 years old as stated bye the deputy permanent secretary.

In August, A/H1N1 flu infected patients lowered to 9,000 per day as to the 18,000 per day in July.

According to Dr. Warachit, 52 percent of the total A/H1N1 patients belonged to the countryside mainly inthe Northeast and North regions.

The first two cases of the flu in Thailand were detected on May 12. The World Health Organization has ranked Thailand as the 33rd most affected country by the pandemic virus.
