ROME -- Local authorities in southern Italy said two buildings collapsed after an explosion which was triggered by a gas leak. At least ten people were injured in the incident. Sky 24 Italian television was informed by Conversano Mayor Giuseppe Lovascio that the injured victims were in surrounding structures and included a child. The blast took place on Thursday morning in the historic center of the town. One of the toppled buildings was abandoned and it was not readily known if anyone was inside the second building.
