NATO Soldier Killed in IED Blast in Eastern Afghanistan

KABUL -- NATO issued a press release saying that one of its soldiers was killed in a blast in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in the release that a service member was killed following an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in the eastern section of the militancy-hit nation. However, the short release did not disclose the nationality of the fallen soldier in accordance to ISAF policy. A total of 50 nations contributed 130,000 troops in Afghanistan with more than 90,000 of them from the U.S. So far this year, 188 foreign troops have been killed in Afghanistan.
